Dawson Associate Curator and Head of Vertebrate Paleontology, Carnegie Museum of Natural History

"This is one of the most beautifully illustrated children's books on dinosaurs that I have seen. Zhao Chuang's imagery makes the extinct behemoths, as well as the tinier forms, come alive in all their glory. Yang Yang's writing provides simple and easily understandable text to go along with the marvelous artwork. This book is sure to be a treasured volume in many a child's library and one that may even attract some toward the scientific profession. Highly recommended as a gift for the budding young paleontologist."-Lance Grande, Negaunee Distinguished Service Curator of The Field Museum, and author of Curators: Behind the Scenes of Natural History Museums

"From the opening panoply of feathered, spiked, beaked, plated, toothed, clawed and colorful dinosaurs, Zhao and Yang effortlessly convey scientifically informed perspectives on the wonderful world of the Mesozoic Era. Stretching from the Triassic to the Cretaceous, while spanning the globe from Argentina to Australia and back again, the diverse assemblage of animals curated in The Secrets of Dinosaurs provides a 21st century view on dinosaurs of all flavors, effectively capturing the biological wonder inherent in such amazing creatures. Each species account provides the necessary 'who, what, where and when,' while at the same time providing the audience with high-fidelity scientific insight into anatomy, function and behavior that is sure to engage readers of any age and any background."-Dr. Patrick O'Connor, Professor, Paleontologist, and National Geographic Explorer, College of Medicine, Ohio University

"This book feels like a field guide come to life. The illustrations of dinosaurs are really beautiful and sometimes a little scary. Children of all ages will have to remind themselves that these are reconstructions of a vibrant extinct world-not scenes painted from life today. The text shows whimsy and fun. The author's enthusiasm comes across on every page."-Julia Clarke, J. A. Wilson Professor in Vertebrate Paleontology, Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin
